Impact

We aim to support students to create positive geographical change in their communities. In order to share and improve how we do this, we are committed to measuring our impact. Last year Kingston Hub trained 1063 students, had 897 students take part in programmes and launched 3 new projects.

Our response to the pandemic

Kingston Hub is here to support you to skill up and make a difference. We offer many different activities, from mentoring young women to tutoring in schools across London. There is something for everyone.

Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic we've adapted our programs for online delivery, meaning that all our opportunities are delivered safely online and remotely.

Vision and Mission

Kingston Hub is a student-led group offering practical volunteering, skilled placements, project incubation and events. We support you to skill up and make a difference by learning about issues, connecting you with each other to tackle geographical problems.

Together, we have the power and potential to shape a better world.

We work with a variety of local partners, such as schools and community groups, to run our activities. We are grateful for their ongoing support and glad to be making a bigger impact together.

We’re always happy to hear from potential partners. If you’d like to collaborate with us on a project or event, get in touch.

History

Student Hubs started back in 2007 with four individuals setting up Oxford Hub in order to connect like-minded students with each other and with opportunities to take action. They soon realised that there were too few opportunities for students to get involved with, so Oxford Hub started supporting students to set up their own volunteering projects.

The immense success Oxford Hub enjoyed led to the creation of Student Hubs, a national charity, and the development of Hubs at other universities. Over the years Hubs have been created in 9 other universities. 2014 saw the launch of the 10th and newest Hub at Kingston University! Over the past 6 years, our vision at Kingston Hub is a student body that engages with geographical and social community challenges throughout their time at university and further into their careers. Kingston Hub's mission is to support students to become active citizens and to achieve positive change both now and in the future.

We are dedicated to providing multiple opportunities and the support to engage with the local community in areas that you believe in most.
